Leonard M. Evett passed away peacefully Monday, July 13, 2026, at Twin Rivers Senior Care Facility in Lewiston.
Mike worked 35 years at Potlatch Corp., and was president of the Elk City Dust Devils, for 16 years after retirement.
Mike was born May 21, 1947, to Leonard and Marie Evett. He is survived by his wife Arlene, and three children: David, Deanna and Tanya. He gained two sons through marriage, Jack and Bill McCarthy. Mike also is survived by brothers Phil Greer and Mark Evett and a sister Karen Evett. There are 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mike loved rafting the Snake River and the Salmon per his pastime. He also loved spending time with life-long friends in hunting camp on Joseph Plains.
Mike and his wife, Arlene, were influential in acquiring the land that Shearer Park in Elk City sits on, from the Shearer\Johnson family. Mike was the lead in working with Framing Our Community to secure the land, bathrooms and gazebo as well as the tool shed. He left a legacy of a great and lasting ATV Club.
The last four months of his life was spent with family, and devotion from a loving staff at Twin Rivers Senior Living.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at Hells Gate State Park.
