Linda Kay Jenson passed away peacefully Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born Dec. 3, 1943, to Charlie and Olive Williams in Nampa. She spent much of her childhood riding horses, caring for calves and entering them in the fair, playing with her many friends. She was fortunate to have a carefree childhood. She married Dennis Jenson on Aug. 26, 1960. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1961. They welcomed three children: Dana, Jeff and Leslie. They have now been married 63 years and counting.
In Linda’s early years of marriage she worked as a pharmacy technician, and a title clerk and receptionist for a car dealership in Moscow. She later worked as an accountant and cashier for student operations at the University of Idaho. She really enjoyed working with the students and even participated in a play on campus as the main lead.
Once her family moved to Lewiston, she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. At the age of 35 she attended Lewis-Clark State College and began nursing school. She graduated in 1981 and was ecstatic to have passed her exams to finally become an registered nurse. She started her career with St. Joseph’s Hospital in the OB department and worked in this position for 15 years. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the labor patients helping deliver babies and aiding the mothers in their recovery. She then went to work for St. Joseph’s Home Health and Hospice for 11 yrs before retiring. She loved the interaction with the many patients and families she encountered and enjoyed giving support to them during their difficult time.
Once retired, she began to work at the Spokane Washington Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, doing many wonderful acts of service for a total of 21 years. She was a devout disciple of Christ and served in many different callings. Some of her favorites were working with the young women. She had a great impact on many lives as they looked to her for strength, and grew from her strong testimony of Christ. This testimony was also felt by her many wonderful friends she had through the years. They were so touched by her influence.
Linda was very musically inclined. She learned to play the piano at a very young age and later mastered the organ. She accompanied many music groups, choirs, plays, church congregations, etc., throughout her life. She loved her dogs and had them by her side most all her life. She was always a classy dresser and loved to shop. She could take any great find at Goodwill and turn it into a high class outfit with a little tuck here and a stitch there. Bargain shopping, otherwise known as “Junking,” was a fun bonding activity she often shared with her friends, daughters and granddaughters.
She shared a love for cars along with Dennis. She would attend many car shows by his side and even started her own car collection of Nash Metropolitans. She loved nature, being outdoors, camping and spending time at their lake cabin. But she especially loved the Oregon Coast, taking her camper and puppies. Parking near the water was her heaven on earth.
Linda had a bubbly, fun-loving, witty, friendly personality felt by all around her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Dennis; children Dana (Dell) Ruddell, Jeff (Maria) Jenson and Leslie (Wally) Perschon; as well as 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She’s also survived by her brother Roland (Dorothy), and sister-in-law Sandra (Ken). She is now reunited with loved ones that have passed on before her including her dear grandsons Jonathan, Bradley and Joshua. Also, her parents, grandparents, and uncles and aunts. She is now in the arms of our dear Savior Jesus Christ.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 836 Preston Ave., Lewiston.

Linda was a dear friend for many years. I have missed her and our conversations since I left Lewiston. She is the kind of person who will be missed by many and will be excited to meet all of us when we meet again. Dennis, My heart goes out to you knowing how hard it is to lose a mate of 63 years. Ray and I were also together for 63 years.
