Marian Moore, the ultimate matriarch, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, in her granddaughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. Firm in her ways and strong to the end, she passed into another place of her choice. The spirit of Marian lives on among her people. She valued her family and her many relationships. Whether on Clearwater country roads or on the river; she was always part of the action.
She and her husband, Walter, raised spirited daughters and grandchildren. She adventured into the Clearwater to swim, boat, tube or run her Jet Ski. Marian was a true Idaho native and loved every bit of it. She would not ask you to mourn her, but to celebrate your relationship with her and to pass it along.
Marian was a Girl Scout leader and took her troops to Japan and Mexico City. Traveling was her passion. Walt and Marian were active members of the Orofino boat club, and she loved the challenge of playing bridge. Marian attended college classes at Lewis-Clark State College for the pure pleasure of learning. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and Newcomer's Club.
Marian was born April 2, 1928, in Orofino, to parents Charles and Blanche "Ted" Lashly. She married Walter Moore and lived in Orofino most of their married life. After Walter passed, Marian moved to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.
Preceding her in death were her sisters, Margaret and Francie. Survivors include daughters Virginia (Nick) Cavagnaro, Eileen (Ron) Taylor and Julie Crothers; sister Dorothy (Austin) Beck; brother Robert Lashly; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Please join us in a celebration of life for Marian from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lewiston Elks Club. Any donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
