Marilyn Marguerite Stephens Kidder went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2025.
Marilyn was born on February 4, 1930 in Baker City, Oregon to Ralph and Rose Stephens. She was the oldest of 5 children and spent her childhood years living in various parts of Oregon. She graduated from Baker City High School in 1948 and married William “Bill” Kidder the following fall. She and Bill moved to Saudi Arabia where he was employed by Arabian American Oil Company. They lived there an additional 13 years and all four of their children were born there.
Marilyn enjoyed traveling and visited many countries in the Middle East and Europe during her stay in Arabia. After returning to the United States in 1962 Bill and Marilyn built a home in Fruitland, Idaho; where they resided until 1995. At that time, they moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where she resided until her death.
Marilyn was active in 4-H leadership, Cub Scout leadership and always enjoyed her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and spent many happy hours working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed quilting and was usually working on putting together a quilt to be given away.
She was a member of the Congregation Presbyterian Church, active in Bible and book studies and church activities. In Lewiston she enjoyed her work as a Pink Lady in the Gift Shop at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center
Marilyn is survived one brother, Bob Stephens of Haines, Oregon and by her children and their spouses: Marsha Creason of Lewiston, Ron (Vicki) Kidder of Kalispell, Montana, and Brent (Robina) Kidder of Boise, Idaho. She has 4 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Wayne Kidder of Oklahoma, her parents, her sister, Evelyn, her brothers Don and Richard, her husband of 48 years Bill, and son-in-law Ted Creason of Lewiston, Idaho.
No services will be held at this time. Please give memorials to the charity of your choice in place of flowers. Marilyn always believed fresh flowers were for the living and loved to share from her garden.
