Marvin Douglas Hall was born Nov. 8, 1938, to Minnie and Raymond Hall and died peacefully at home Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. He was married to his lifelong love Marilynn for almost 66 years. They enjoyed traveling, camping and helping others.
Marv didn’t know a stranger. He was outgoing with an infectious sense of humor and loved his family, friends and community. He had amazing fortitude and conquered a number of health issues that would have brought most to their knees with his positive attitude.
Marv was extremely active within his community for a number of years. He served as president of American Legion Baseball, coached Babe Ruth and Little League, was a strong union member and a lifelong Democrat. He also made a positive impact with young people through his coaching and mentoring.
There was a lightness and joy to him as a grandfather. He was playful, full of energy and made everyone feel one of a kind. His cleverness showed up in everything he did, from quick comebacks to the way he could turn any moment into laughter.
If you’re reading this, we believe he would want you to remember life is a gift and you should never take yourself too seriously.
Special thanks to Rose Ketchum who has been a constant source of support for Marvin and Marilynn.
He is survived by his wife, his children Shelly (Jeff) Winzeler, of Austin, Texas, Randy (Tracy) Hall, of Boise, Rod (Lisa) Hall, of Otis Orchards, Wash., and his brother Robert (Sue) Hall, of Gig Harbor, Wash. He has six grandchildren and seven great-grandkids.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Clarkston Event Center, 841 Sixth St., Clarkston.
