Pamela Viola Heimgartner passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at Guardian Angel Homes.
Pam was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Tacoma to parents Fred and Cynthia Grimm. She grew up in Raymond, Wash., until age 16 when her parents divorced and she moved with her mother to Nampa for a brief period before moving to Lewiston.
She got a job working as a waitress at a downtown hotel, where she met her future husband, Frank Heimgartner. She and dad were married Nov. 7, 1950. She was a farmer's wife and homemaker on the Heimgartner Farm in Juliaetta until she was forced to move into Royal Plaza in 2014.
Pam loved to cook for her family and the harvest crew. She was a canning expert, filling her cellar with peaches, pears, string beans and corn, just to name a few. She took great pride in her home, which she kept immaculate. Christmas was always a treat at her house with the countertop covered in a display of cookies, candy and nuts. You never left her house hungry. She was always the caregiver whether it be family, friends or pets.
Pamela has one brother, Kenny Grimm (Jackie) of Raymond, Wash. She had four children: Gary Heimgartner (Ardella) of Lewiston, Cindy Crandall (Dave) of Murphey, Idaho, Tina Garrick and Frankie Heimgartner (deceased). She has five grandchildren: Craig Heimgartner, Timm Heimgartner, Jessica Crandall, Haley Imel and Amanda Dilenge; and seven great-grandchildren: Garrett, Abbie, Sienna, Sloane, Quinton, Austin and Kassiday.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fix Ridge Cemetery in Juliaetta. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She loved her fur babies, so in lieu of flowers, donations to the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter would be appreciated.
