Roger was born to Walter "Hap" and Helen Dennis Currin on June 10, 1945, in Orofino.
He graduated from Weippe High School in 1963, then joined the military. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. During this time, he served in Turkey and France.
He married Inge T. Koller on Oct. 22, 1963, in Petersburg, Va. At this time, he worked in logging for a short while in Headquarters, Idaho. He attended Lewis-Clark Normal School and received an associate's degree and a Bachelor of Arts in police science. He began his career as a police officer in Coeur d'Alene in 1970. He worked at the Lewiston Police Department from 1970-77. He went on to become a detective and later attended training at the FBI academy at Quantico, Va., and became a member of the LPD's SWAT team.
He was hired at Potlatch Corp. in 1978, and after a few years he was head of security for Potlatch Corp. Northwest.
After leaving Potlatch, he worked for the Lewiston School District for 11 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Catherine Kopczyski.
He is survived by his wife, Inge; his son, Christopher (Cindy) and grandsons Evan and Race; daughters Shannon Kenyon and grandsons Douglas (Allie) and John (McKenzie), and Sheila Rae Fuchs (Andrew) and grandsons Zachary and Matthew; sister Judy Bown; one niece, four nephews; and his faithful dog, Schatzie Web.

At Roger's request, cremation has taken place and no public memorial is planned.
