Sharon Irene McLean, 84, died at her home in the Lewiston Orchards, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024. Sharon was born June 10, 1940, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood, to Claude and Irene Trenary. She grew up in Kooskia with her younger brother Mark. Summers were spent swimming at Heywood Eddy on the Clearwater River outside of Kooskia, Red River Hot Springs and family trips to California.
Sharon graduated as valedictorian in 1958 from Clearwater Valley High School. She graduated with a degree in education from the University of Idaho in 1962. Sharon married Dale White, June 27, 1963; a son Lance was born to them in December of 1968. The couple later divorced.
On Oct. 5, 1979, Sharon married Melvin McLean and added two sons, Byron and Brett McLean. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this October.
Sharon joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the late 1960s and remained a faithful member serving in many callings.
She loved to play the piano and taught many kids piano lessons. She enjoyed the Oregon Coast and took many trips with Mel. She also took her grandchildren to see some of their favorite spots. Anyone who knew Sharon knew of her love for the Lord and for her compassion and kindness for others. She inherited these wonderful traits from her parents, Claude and Irene Trenary.
Sharon was preceded in death by Claude and Irene Trenary; aunts and uncles, Myrtle, Webster, Luella, Bobby, Farrell and Thelma.
Sharon is survived by her spouse Mel; son Lance White (Renee) of Lewiston; stepsons Byron McLean of Spokane, Brett McLean of Waldorf, Maryland, and grandchildren Kaylona (Kevin) Guthrie of Springville, Utah, and Alex (Sara) White of Anchorage, Alaska. She has four great-grandchildren with one more due any day.
She is also survived by her brother Mark Trenary (Janis) from Kamiah.
The family would like to give a special thanks for the love and care she received in her last years from Elite Hospice and her nurse “Bubba.”
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the LDS Church, 3810 16th St., Lewiston. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery in Kooskia.

Condolences
The Duncan Families
Our heartfelt condolences to Mel, Lance and all Sharon’s family. Sharon always had a ready smile and a kind heart. She often travelled in the plane with her parents, Claude & Irene, to Southern Saskatchewan for a visit with my grandparents Ross and Lucy Duncan. We always loved to see them come!!
Our wish is for Sharon to once again join her parents and be free!!🦋
